I left my notes lying around.

Painting: Textile, silkscreen ink.
60x101, 61x101

I left my notes lying around. Have you seen them?

-Unbleached cotton, white silkscreen print.
Untitled (Work in progress.)
Jan 2023
Painting: Textile, dye, pencil, acrylic paint.
50x282, 136x179

For this work I've combined fabric dyeing with painting, I've been exploring how shapes become patterns, and how images or signs lose visual function and become shapes. I love mistakes, but the bleeding in this one annoys me. I think that's good.
This year I've been working with the question of what textile art is. it's painting, its sculpture, it neither, it's both. It's something on its own. I've been representing textile, in the visual language and in material. WIP.

Can I get away with calling this one: On A Clear Day?
Dec 2022
Painting
174x145

Agnes Martin said about the on a clear day series that it is completely abstract, free from any expression. Mine version is not, mine encaptures a moment in time of a painting into a painting, it's not even a series of silkscreens. Agnes said that the prints express the innocence of mind. This I do recognize in the method used in this painting. I work so tediously that I can hold my mind so empty, I almost lose the sense of what I'm doing at that moment, it's very feeling and courageous.

NO, dont! maybe.

Painting: textile, pencil, acrylic paint, tape.
174x60

This work is about impulsivity, TAKE IT OFF, no don't! YES DO. Its the other side coin of "Can I get away with calling this one: On A Clear Day?'

- tablecloth, transparent gesso, pencil, acrylic paint, painter's tape.
24 dots
Painting: Textile, dye.
282x50

On its own, 24 dots. I wanted to make a painting that would have a stack of dots. So I did.

- unbleached cotton, direct dye (lilac: blue + purple)

ps. I'm sure this is my favourite pillar to show work on.
